Canva is a great online design tool, that a lot of people use to create artwork for digital or print marketing.
One problem my customers often have when they use Canva is they produce great artwork, and a pdf, but it’s not print ready. The reason for this is they haven’t included bleed and crop marks in the pdf.
Canva makes this very easy to but it’s also very easy to miss, espeically if you’re used to creating artwork for the internet, that doesn’t need any of that stuff.
When the artwork is complete, you will click on >Share then >Download.
Select PDF, and this is where there is a little check box that says “Crop marks & bleed”. Make sure that is selected and Canva will do the rest.
All of the templates in Canva have the bleed added, but if you are adding your own content to the templates then you will need to make sure that the design element bleeds off the edge of teh visible page.
After you add the make sure you position it so that part of it goes off the edge of the page. Typically you want it to bleed off 3mm.
Standard production turnaround is 5 working days. We can work to a deadline if you have one, however priority production fees may apply. Priority production involves deprioritizing other jobs, and overtime for the production team, and the additional fee reflects that. Artwork needs to be received by 10am for a day to count. No fair sending artwork at 4.45pm and expecting that day to count!
Also please be aware that turnaround does not include freight time, it is turnaround to dispatch. So if you need your goods by a certain date, don’t forget to consider freight will likely add a day or more depending where you are.
Please check delivery times at the addresses below but keep us in the loop. There are often other options, like Express Post, or same day couriers.
